The Trouble With Perfect by Helena Duggan - Review

4.5/5 stars

A good sequel to a rather mysterious first book.

Strong Character Development - Yes
Diverse Cast of Characters - N/A
Focus on flaws of characters - Yes

When things start to go missing, everyone suspects that Violet's friend Boy is the cause. Soon she finds herself forced to discover more about the strange and mysterious place that used to be called Perfect.

I really liked the writing style of this book, even though I found the plot twists to be predictable, something which usually annoys me. (I would have rated it higher if the plot twists had been more surprising). At one point, I found myself almost shouting out loud, as part of it was that predictable.  Also, it was quite repetitive with its retrace of past events, though this was good if you forgot the events of the previous book.

However, I did find Violet quite annoying and unlikable in this book, due to her attitude towards Boy (and his mysterious brother).

Otherwise, this is a well-plotted and well-written sequel and I will be back for the next book.

Would I recommend to a friend?/ Yes!!!
