Strong Character Development - Yes.
Diverse cast of characters - Kind of.
Flaws of the characters centre stage - Yup!
"I said I would never do this again, never play the detective, never again lose myself in the world of small town secrets."
Good Girl, Bad Blood is probably one of the best sequels I've read this year, and I don't say that without the book being seriously out of this world. It follows the characters after the events of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, following particularly how the whole Andie Bell and Sal Singh cases affected everyone in the story. This made it much darker than the first book.
Pip has vowed to never do any detective work again, but she has to go back on her word when her friend's brother Jamie goes missing. It involves more of the town's secrets and undercover work, which I really enjoyed reading. I also loved the podcast element, and the growth we saw in the characters throughout the book, which I didn't really notice in book one.
One thing, though, is the ending, something which I mentioned in my review to book one. Again, it felt rushed, though it did have me hooked. Are you telling me that I have to wait until 2021 to find out what happened?!
Would I recommend to a friend? // Yes! This book is perfect for YA thriller lovers.
